San Francisco Shock Stage 4, Week 1 Preview

San Francisco Shock Stage 4

The Shock are coming off of one of the most electric Stage Playoffs fans have ever seen. While Shanghai got the best of them in the finals, the Shock look to bounce back where it counts leading into the Season Playoffs after the conclusion of Stage 4.With only seven games separating them from their road to redemption, the Shock look poised to finish strong.

Week 1 Preview

Seoul Dynasty (12-9)

This is a short week for the Shock, opening up the stage with just one game on Friday against their Router Rumble rival, Seoul Dynasty. The last time these two met in the regular season, the Shock won in an easy 4-0 sweep. But now, in a completely different landscape, things may be a bit closer.

The 2-2-2 role lock begins in Stage 4, making just about any match tough to predict. Especially for the Shock. San Francisco has relied almost entirely on three-support compositions all season long and even most of those having three tanks. The Shock have a plethora of DPS players on their roster, so they should be covered for just about anything, however, fans should expect some hiccups to start things off.

Even so, the Shock give no reason why they should lose to this Seoul team other than a complete failure to be prepped for the 2-2-2 shift. This one, in theory, should not be close.

Prediction: Shock 3-1 Dynasty

Player to Watch: Shock Bench

There isn’t just one player to keep an eye on for this match but instead three to four that fans should closely watch. Minho “Architect” Park, Nam-joo “Striker” Kwon and Myeong-hwan “smurf” Yoo all made their season debuts in the Stage 3 finals against the Dragons. They were all only featured for one map, one that resulted in a loss, but this could be an indication of things to come for the Shock. If the meta truly does go for dive or double sniper, who will the Shock choose to fill those roles?
