Overwatch: Preview of the North American Contenders Final

Next Friday marks the conclusion of Season 2 of North American Contenders. If you are a fan of Overwatch League or just high quality esports in general, you’re going to want to tune in. Here are all the details you need to know.

How and When to Watch

The match, like all others in Contenders and Overwatch League, will be streamed on Twitch. It will be featured on the OverwatchContenders channel and will likely be hosted by the OverwatchLeague channel as well. The match will take place at  8:45 PM Central Time on Friday, September 7th. To keep up with future scheduling, be sure and visit the Overwatch Contenders website.

Who is Playing and Why Should I Care?

The match is made up of the league’s two powerhouse teams, XL2 Academy and Fusion University. Neither of these teams lost during the regular season and both have looked extremely dominant in the playoffs. Many players on both of these teams will be on Overwatch League teams next year. If you are a fan of the league, this game has implications for you and will definitely have implications for your team. And who knows, if there is a Fantasy Overwatch League next year, this might just give you a leg up in your fantasy draft!

The Season 2 finale of Korean Contenders was one we will never forget and may even go down as the single best Overwatch match ever played. Will these North American finals live up to the same hype? Tune in to find out!
