Overwatch League: Alarm Wins Rookie of the Year 2020

Mallory McMahonBy Mallory McMahonOctober 3, 20201 Min Read

Philadelphia Fusion newcomer Kyung-bo “Alarm” Kim is this year’s Rookie of the Year. The Overwatch League announced this coveted award during the North American All Stars broadcast. The announcement included a heartfelt video of Alarm thanking his fans, overcome with emotion with the honor that Rookie of the Year holds.

Here it is! Your #OWL2020 Rookie of the Year is… @alarm! ⏰ pic.twitter.com/lNvGfcaaIo

Alarm beat out a lot of tough competition to earn this award. Some of his competition included San Francisco Shock sniper specialist Seonchang “ANS” Lee, and Shanghai Dragon’s Lucio superstar Jae-gon “LeeJaeGon” Lee. However, with consistent numbers that keep him in the top of the flex support role, as well as a solid impact on the dominant Fusion team, this award certainly went to the right player.

Fan can read more about Alarm’s journey to becoming the 2020 Rookie of the Year on the Overwatch League website.

Make sure to tune into the Overwatch League YouTube channel on Oct 8th for the beginning of Grand Finals!
