Just as quick as their players were dropped, new players were announced for the Paris Eternal. On Monday August 15, the Paris Eternal announced the addition of four new members of their OWL roster. The Eternal welcome in Kyle “Rakattack” Rakauskas, Luke “Lukemino” Fish, Domenic “Krawi” Akrawi and Josh “Malthel” Gonzales. Rakattack and Lukemino will serve as the new support line, Malthel joins the DPS line and Krawi is holding down the front line as the only tank on the roster.

Rakattack, Lukemino and Malthel join the Eternal after winning the North America A-Sides tournament with Odyssey. With Wisp, Krawi helped the team place second in that same event. The four members of the new roster have spent the past month playing in the Junker Queen meta, which may have been the biggest reason why Paris made the move to grab these players now.

Fans of the Overwatch League were shocked to see the new signings on Monday, as many were not expected to see an entire roster overhaul for the Paris Eternal. However with a 1-13 record with the old roster, the Eternal management believed it was time to try something new. Paris appeared to be unable to find any trade partners for the old members of the team as the trade deadline quickly approaches.
By signing Contenders players, the Paris Eternal are leaning on their recent experience to bring instant success to the team. The benefit of signing North American Contenders is that the team no longer needs to wait on any visa or travel times that have limited players in the past.
The new Paris Eternal make their debut this weekend against the Atlanta Reign.
