Overwatch 2 will be getting its usual midseason patch for Season 20 very soon, but this patch will be much larger than many may expect, as it is an annual “rebase patch” according to the game’s community manager. Here’s what that means and when the patch will go live.
1/8 Update: The Overwatch 2 midseason patch is live and can now be downloaded! Check out the full patch notes.
According to the Overwatch 2 Community Manager on X, the Season 20 midseason patch will go live today, January 8th, and will be much larger than the typical patch.
That is because this is an annual “rebase patch” done to the game to “reduce [the] overall size footprint,” but the community manager also noted that this download could take extra time to update.
