In a recent announcement, the Overwatch League shared that only ten of the previously announced sixteen matches will be played this weekend as scheduled.
Due to the increasing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the New York Excelsior have taken themselves out of play, for the safety and well being of their players and staff. Many other Korean rosters, such as the London Spitfire and the Vancouver Titans, are in the midst of relocating to South Korea in order to play safely and allow players and staff to be with their family. As such, these teams are no longer playing their schedule games.
Of these games that are scheduled, the following are set to be played.
All of the Chinese teams, as well as all California teams, make their return and debuts. Atlantic teams such as the Boton Uprising and the Toronto Defiant are also returning to play this weekend. The League stated that any announcement would come as the situation develops further.
Keep eyes on The Game Haus for all scheduling updates. The first match of the weekend is scheduled to start at 4:00 AM EST, with the Guangzhou Charge vs the Shanghai Dragons.
