Power rankings season is in full swing in the weeks leading up to the heavily anticipated start of the 2020 Overwatch League season. But, with all of the many different rankings floating around from fans, it’s sometimes hard to tell what those closest to the league truly think about the teams heading into the season. In short, the OWL lacks what the NCAA has in its Preseason AP Poll.
To better gauge this, the author has polled several OWL insiders to form a cumulative preseason power ranking. Each of the analyst’s rankings were averaged out to form one final list, however, some wished for their specific rankings and/or participation in this list to remain anonymous. 15 of the contributors are listed below and their individual rankings can be seen on this spreadsheet.
Josh “Sideshow” Wilkinson, Seth “Achilios” King, Wolf “Wolf” Schröder, Connor “Avast” Prince, Jennifer “LemonKiwi” Pichette, Harry “LEGDAY” Pollitt, Dustin Steiner, Liz Richardson, Chris Cuevo, Sascha “Yiska” Heinisch, Joseph “Volamel” Franco, Connor “GoopyKnoopy” Knudsen, Eren “Kenobi” Erkey, Plat Chat and The Game Haus’s staff rankings.

With some heavy disparity for some teams and some outright unanimous picks for others, this set of rankings proves to be a good litmus test for how those closest to the heartbeat of the OWL read its pulse. But, as with all preseason power rankings, fans will simply have to wait and see whose rankings come out on top when things finally get underway.
The Game Haus would like to sincerely thank all of these contributors for participating in this set of cumulative rankings.
