A lot has changed for our dear Valiant since their last roster switches in April of last year. Many players and staff alike were dropped, while only one new player and no new staff were brought on. Of course, letting go of many people is not necessarily a bad thing, but it may not be a good thing, either. I’m not here to discuss that, though. Here is a recap of what’s gone down for the Valiant roster since the end of OWL’s inaugural season.
Drops
This is where the real meat of their roster changes lies. Since April of 2018, the LA Valiant have released a total of seven of their general roster, including four players and three members of the coaching staff.
Finnbjörn “Finnsi” Jónasson
Finnsi was one of the general flex players of the team; he specialized in DPS and off-tank. After being released in September, he is now a member of the Paris Eternal and is still under the flex role.
Seb “Numlocked” Barton
Numlocked was a main tank player for the LA Valiant whose main characters were Winston and Reinhardt. He was also released in September, along with Finnsi, and is now playing for the London Spitfire’s academy team British Hurricane. Numlocked still plays main tank.
Stefano “Verbo” Disalvo
A secondary support player, Verbo was known for his Lúcio. He was in the same batch of September releases as Numlocked and Finnsi. He moved on to play for NA Contenders team Skyfoxes, but as of Jan. 3rd is a free agent. He has decided to look for a team under the role of main support.
Christopher “GrimReality” Schaefer
A player-turned-coach for the LA Valiant, GrimReality went from DPS to assistant coach. Along with the three previously mentioned players, he was dropped in September. He is also currently a free agent.
Terence “Soon” Tarlier
SoOn was a starting DPS for the Valiant, with a focus specifically on Widowmaker, McCree and Tracer. He was dropped in October and is now set to be playing for the Paris Eternal, continuing as a DPS.
Julien “Daemon” Ducros
Another assistant coach, DaemoN ended up being released along with SoOn in October. He is now head coach of the Paris Eternal.
Jordan “Gunba” Graham
Gunba was yet another assistant coach for the Valiant and was also released in the same group as DaemoN and SoOn. He is now an assistant coach for the Boston Uprising.
Pick-Ups
Although this can’t be considered a list per se, here is the one pick-up that the LA Valiant have made since April.
Dae-kuk “Kuki” Kim
KuKi, originally starting on KR Contenders team MVP Space, was transfered from the Seoul Dynasty shortly after the Valiant’s first batch of releases in September. He is a main tank player specializing in Winston, Reinhardt and Orisa.
