New Overwatch Mobile Game: Overwatch Rush Revealed

While there had been murmurs, no one really expected for Blizzard to be working on a Mobile Version of Overwatch. Yet, we are still getting one. Overwatch Rush is the new Overwatch Mobile Game currently in early development.

The new Overwatch Mobile Game, Overwatch Rush, is one that was announced completely by surprise.

For years, there had been rumors that Blizzard was working on a Mobile Version of Overwatch. Many thought that it was scrapped but it seems as though a new team has been working on this behind the scenes. Now, they are ready to reveal the early gameplay of this game.

Overwatch Rush Gameplay

From what we can tell, this game will be a true Mobile Overwatch Experience.

You will play top-down, like many mobile game,s and like in Overwatch, it looks like you will be playing for a point. So far, they have shown off only 5 heroes from the Overwatch universe. They were Tracer, Reindhardt, Soldier: 76, Mercy and Reaper. They were all fighting over a point that was pretty small but it looked very much like Overwatch,

The abilities and movement were made for mobile with some changes to what their abilities did. Like Reindhardt’s Firestrike, left a flaming path on the ground.

It will be interesting to see how much more they change from the normal Overwatch game.

In this blog post, Blizzard confirmed a few things.

Most importantly, this is in Early Development. It looks like they want to build it with the community in mind, so they have already opened up a Discord Server for players to join.

Finally, they announced that this is a separate team from Team 4 that works on Overwatch. Along with that, they are not porting Overwatch, but building it from the ground up.
