Los Angeles Valiant (7-12) vs. Vancouver Titans (19-1)

In the Valiant’s craziest match of the season so far, they managed to blow everyone away with a dominant performance against the literal titans of the league.

The first round was on City Center. The Valiant showed some grit, but in the end could not overwhelm the Titans enough to take true control of the situation.

Round two took place on Gardens. Los Angeles looked very strong, enough to even win the round. However, the Titans were able to flip the point in overtime and win it.

The map ended 2-0 in favor of the Vancouver Titans.

Paris: Valiant 2-1 Titans

The LA Valiant started on defense. Their point A hold lasted all the way to overtime, but a switch to a 3-3 composition by the Titans was too much for them to handle. The Valiant showed another stalwart defense on B, and denied Vancouver the capture.

On attack, the Los Angeles Valiant were only held for a couple of minutes before securing the first point. Their attempts at capturing point B failed for some time until a round of well-used ultimates opened the flood gates. The LA Valiant got the portion of the point they needed to close out the round.

The map ended 2-1 in favor of the Los Angeles Valiant.

Eichenwalde: Valiant 3-2 Titans

On Eichenwalde, the Valiant started on attack. It only took a little over a minute for them to take point A. They maintained their pressure through point B, and captured it with little trouble. Point C was even more one-sided, with just about no contention from the Titans. The LA Valiant finished the map with 4:10 left.

On defense, the Los Angeles Valiant lost point A rather quickly. They stopped the Titans in their tracks on B, but only for a few minutes. Point C, however, saw the Valiant take the fight to Vancouver. In the end, the Vancouver Titans could not finish.

The map ended 3-2 in favor of the Los Angeles Valiant.

Dorado: Valiant 3-1 Titans

The LA Valiant started on attack on Dorado. Their point A pushed was stalled for only a short amount of time before their ultimates overwhelmed the Titans and they took it. Vancouver showed little contention on point B. It was only a matter of time before the Valiant completed it. Point C went similarly, and Los Angeles finished out the map with 1:53 in their time bank.

On defense, the Valiant lost point A in a similar amount of time to the Titans. They were unmoved on point B, though, and kept the Vancouver Titans from taking it.

The map ended 3-1 in favor of the Los Angeles Valiant.

Conclusion

Having now beaten the statistically strongest team in the Overwatch League, the LA Valiant can feel good knowing that they have undoubtedly become much stronger than they were in the past two stages. The Valiant are looking better than ever, and they only seem to be going up.
