BREAKING: Los Angeles Valiant Part Ways with Bunny

Publish Date: June 7, 2019

The Los Angeles Valiant announced earlier today on their Twitter that they have “mutually parted ways” with DPS Jun-hyeok “Bunny” Chae. Bunny joined the team early on in the inaugural season, and was often seen playing alongside Brady “Agilities” Girardi as his companion DPS. As of now, no further details have been released.

It is safe to assume that the team will not be bringing on a replacement, as Bunny saw almost no playtime throughout the season. The most likely reason for the drop is that both parties felt that Bunny’s presence was no longer needed on the team.

In this now not-so-new GOATS meta, the role of DPS usually does not exist on any given team’s starting roster. This has left many DPS players benched for either all of, or the majority of, the 2019 season so far. It also doesn’t look as though GOATS is going anywhere any time soon.

In the end, Bunny is simply another victim of the shift away from 2-2-2. Teams are realizing that they need to restructure their rosters to fit a 3-3 meta. It was only a matter of time before Bunny got the boot. Hopefully, he can find a new home in a team that is looking for a DPS player to play Brigitte.
