The former team manager for the Toronto Defiant, Debbie Chun, has just been announced as the new team manager and translator for the LA Valiant. After their winless Stage 1, the LA Valiant made some prompt staff changes, such as releasing former head coach Moon after their stage ended. The loss was felt throughout the community, although slightly expected where Moon’s position was concerned.
Now, headed into a brand new Stage 2, it seems that they’ve started to rebuild what they’ve lost. Debbie has previously worked with a variety of teams. Most notably, she just left her position as the team manager for the Toronto Defiant. Prior to this, she was seen leading the Skyfoxes Contenders team, as well as the Open Division team, Team Clarity.
With how well the Defiant have done in their inaugural season of the Overwatch League, it’s safe to say that this switch makes sense. The Valiant needed to rethink and rebuild after how poorly they’ve performed. For a team that’s usually seen at the top, this marks the start of their comeback. With this news announced, it’s wise to keep eyes on their Twitter for further coaching announcements as we move towards Stage 2.
