Rumors of Houston courting Jecse have circulated since main support Chris “Bani” Benell left the team. They only intensified after the signing of Jung-geun “Rapel” Kim, Jecse’s former support partner on Contenders Korea’s Element Mystic. The duo had strong results with EM, winning some minor tournaments and reaching the semifinals in Contenders Korea 2018 Season 2.
After their tenure together in Contenders, Jecse moved to the Seoul Dynasty for the 2019 OWL season, while Rapel signed with the Vancouver Titans. 2020 will be their first season playing together in Overwatch League.
Fan reactions on social media were strongly positive, with many Outlaws welcoming Jecse to the team and Jecse himself responding with optimism:
Can make our fans proud
Can make our team proud
