On Monday October 19, the Houston Outlaws announced the promotion of Matt “Coolmatt” Iorio to become their next General Manager. Coolmatt previously played for the Houston Outlaws in 2018 and 2019, before retiring in 2020. As a member of the staff, Coolmatt served as the Logistics Manager for the Outlaws.
The announcement comes in the wake of several releases from the organization. As the new General Manager, Coolmatt now must work with new head coach Jae “Junkbuck” Choi to build a brand new roster. In his statement, it appears Coolmatt will be going for a new look for the team, potentially aiming to sign more western players than previously.
