Ah, Atlanta. The capitol and biggest city of Georgia has seen its fair share of ups and downs in sports, and recent history has seen some Atlanta teams come frustratingly close to securing a title for the city, only to have their hopes come crashing down (cough Falcons vs. Patriots cough). This is a city that loves its sports, so the Reign are in good company. Here’s where the Reign will be playing their homestands.

Atlanta has been a sporting city for a while, and, as a result, there are plenty of sports venues in the city. One of the most recent additions to the lineup is Suntrust Park, which the Atlanta Braves built and moved to recently. The Braves used to play at Turner Field, which initially built for the Olympics before being renovated to be a baseball stadium. The Falcons play at another brand spanking new stadium, the Mercedes-Benz Dome, which is also the venue of Atlanta United FC. The Atlanta Hawks play in the State Farm Arena, which was also the home of the Thrashers until they moved to Winnipeg.

The Coca-Cola Roxy is the hot new concert venue on the block for Atlanta. The name has been passed from venue to venue over time, but it currently resides with a concert venue in the Battery Atlanta. The Battery Atlanta is an entertainment complex that sits in the shadow of Suntrust Park. It was built when the park was built in an effort to create a new entertainment district surrounding the ballpark. The Reign are in pretty close by and good company. The venue is a heralded music venue and is brand spanking new; what more could you ask for?
The second venue has not been announced yet. Stay tuned.
The Reign are in a city that really does love sports. They had a good run in their first OWL season, and this city can definitely be hopeful for more good times to come. Fortunately, they have a venue that reflects this status.
