Spark Part Ways With Head Coach Mask, Team Announces Assistant Coach paJion As Replacement

Publish Date: July 31, 2020

Late Thursday night the Hangzhou Spark announced the departure of Head Coach Lee “Mask” Mu-ho and promotion of assistant coach Hwang “paJion” Ji-Sub. The team announced the change on Twitter following plenty of sub-par performances from the team this season.

Mask has been with the team since their inaugural season and led the team to a 4th place finish in 2019. This season, however, the team decided to stick with similar personnel for the majority of the season leading to some uninspiring performances while other teams were able to make improvements. The Spark were able to bring in some reinforcements later in the season with talents like Architect and QoQ. But so far, since those changes, the team’s performance has not been spectacular.

Meanwhile, @pajion90 will step in as the main Coach. Looking forward to seeing him pop off for the rest of the season. Let’s give him a warm welcome! pic.twitter.com/bvouLl7NRP

In a following tweet, the team also announced that the former head coach of the Vancouver Titans and current assistant paJion will be replacing Mask as head coach. paJion was responsible for helping the original Titans team make it to the 2019 OWL Grand Finals. On top of this, the team also has another capable assistant in the former head coach of the Shanghai Dragons, Chen “U4” Congshan, to back him up.

TGH will keep a close eye on the situation and provide updates if anything is else revealed.
