Review of Week 1:
The Florida Mayhem doesn’t play in the first week. They can watch and analyze the teams that do play this week. Additionally, they can get some extra scrims in before they play against the Houston Outlaws and the Philadelphia Fusion in Week 2. Both of these teams don’t play in the first week.
Preview of Week 2:
The first match for the Mayhem will be against the Outlaws. Despite the Outlaws underperforming in the 2019 season, the match has a lot of fan anticipation going into it. This match will be one to look forward to and start off their season with. The second match will be against the Philadelphia Fusion. They ended up in the top 10 in the 2019 season, potentially being a threat to the Mayhem.
Houston Outlaws (2/15): 0-0-0
This will be the first match for both teams of the 2020 season. Winning from the Outlaws would require an understanding of the teams’ hero picks and making sure they can intercept their DPS line, get to the support and get the tanks down as soon as possible. If the Mayhem make sure the Outlaws can’t pick their Support players, the Mayhem makes a good chance to peel down their enemy team.
Prediction: 3:2 Florida Mayhem
The Florida Mayhem changed up a lot since the 2019 season, new players and new coaches. They will show a whole new Mayhem. Well prepared, they will beat the Outlaws 3:2, it will be an exciting match either way.
Player(s) to Watch:
The players to watch on the first match are Kim “Yaki” Yungi and Gang “Gangnamjin” Namjin. The new support and DPS players of the Mayhem could bring, literal mayhem to the matches and make some clutch plays.
Philadelphia Fusion (2/16) : 0-0-0
This match will be the match Philly fans look forward to, as it’s the match in their Homestand. Both teams already played the day before and have had the chance to see what their play looks like. Philly having their Widowmaker specialist and the Mayhem having their own makes it an unpredictable match. If the Mayhem’s Widowmaker specialist gets to pick off their enemy first, the Mayhem has the chance to peel the team and win the team fights.
Prediction: 3:1 Florida Mayhem
The last time these two teams played against each other was in Stage 3 of the 2019 season. Philadelphia Fusion ended up winning over the Mayhem with 3:1. This time around the Mayhem will turn it around and take the win over Philly Fusion with 3:1.
Player(s) to Watch:
This match you need to keep your eyes on Philly’s Hitscan DPS Player Lee “Carpe” Jaehyuk. He is their Widowmaker specialist. Carpe is a potential threat to the Mayhem thus making him their priority to get him down as soon as possible.
