Sources have suggested that the Florida Mayhem are interested in acquiring players, and potentially coaches, from
KR Contenders team RunAway
during this offseason. It’s not clear whether or not the Mayhem plan to make a move for the team as a whole, or simply plan to fill in a couple of holes in their roster. However, it is clear that they are interested in RunAway players to some degree.
As it currently stands, the Florida Mayhem potentially have the following seven players signed on their roster after the wave of cuts that were previously made.

Because five of the seven players are still under team options, it stands to reason that the Mayhem could potentially release all five and build their team around Sayaplayer, Fate and several players from RunAway for the 2020 season.
On the flip side, several of these players, BQB and Gargoyle, in particular, had strokes of brilliance in the 2019 season and proved that they can compete at the OWL level. With that in mind, the Mayhem could just as easily keep these players signed and either fill in holes around them, or continue with signing RunAway as a whole to provide competition for starting spots and provide much-needed depth.
With RunAway’s historic success in Korean Contenders, claims that Dae-hoon “Runner” Yoon has been approached by OWL management and Florida’s need to rebuild, this is a move that makes a lot of sense from initial speculation. As a reminder, here are the active players on the 2019 RunAway roster that may be potentially involved in negotiations with the Mayhem.
