GameStop is one of the largest video game retail companies that has stores selling video games, consoles and equipment to gamers worldwide. Team Envy has also announced that the “game clinics” being set up will feature Coach Aaron “Aero” Atkins and Assistant Coach Justin “Jayne” Conroy stating “Esports fans can expect to see Dallas Fuel head coach Aero and assistant coach Jayne participating at future GameStop Live clinics.” This is a great way for the Dallas Fuel and Team Envy to meet fans and aspiring gamers from all around the world. Not only that, but Team Envy will also be holding sweepstakes and giveaways, likely with their other partner Corsair. However, to be part of these sweepstakes gamers have to be a part of GameStop Power Rewards.
This partnership will also bring more support to college esports teams. The Dallas Fuel and Team Envy will provide “activation support” to collegiate esports programs in order to help them from the ground up.
This partnership looks to support amateur gamers from the “grassroots” level. This will help more young players meet their idols and get equipment that they wouldn’t normally have. The partnership with GameStop means that this will be happening all around the world to support gamers with what they love.
