Dallas Fuel had a rough inaugural season. However, that doesn’t mean they didn’t have shining moments. With Season Two of OWL right around the corner, fans should look back at the Dallas Fuel doing their best work. Their players like Hyeon “Effect” Hwang, Brandon “Seagull” Larned, and Timo “Taimou” Kettunen shined even their darkest times. These are the Dallas Fuel’s highlights from Season One.

Overwatch League Stage One feels like a long time ago, so this could be considered an old gem. McCree’s Deadeye is often times used to just zone enemies out or immediately canceled for a reload, but Effect shows viewers that it can still clutch fights.

Hanzo had previously been a niche pick during OWL Season One, but stage four brought him back. The reworked Hanzo with Storm Arrows was live in the regular game, but not in OWL. This didn’t stop teams from running him, though. Everyone was practicing him again, so why not work him into compositions? The dreaded Graviton Surge and Dragonstrike combo got a triple kill on Houston. The supports were likely resetting and decided to give themselves to the gull, it still counts though.

Hanamura first point, one more fight. Josh “Eqo” Corona thinks he can be the hero and get the kills to capture point one. He forgot that Brigitte was a hero. Mickie slams the new patch, the new meta, into Eqo’s face and deletes his old ways. That was the moment teams realized Dive compositions were gone.

Seagull is considered one of the smartest Overwatch players. In this clip, he anticipated that the Boston Uprising Genji would try to come after him, since he was in the back, somewhat alone. So what Seagull did was take a Junkrat trap and place it behind him to trap any flankers, or in this case a direct Genji dash. The brain on this bird never ceases to amaze.

Keep count, Dylan “aKm” Bignet lands six kills onto the Boston Uprising, who can do nothing but stare up at him. This was during stage four, where Boston was struggling to adapt, aKm exploits this by playing Widowmaker into a ground based composition. The Frenchman was free firing into them from the highground and he had no mercy.

Reaper was one of the least picked characters in OWL Season one. Taimou brings it back with a sneaky Deathblossom onto Boston Uprising. Reaper pops up from the shadows when least expected, and Boston surely did not expect that from Taimou. Reaper could be getting more play time this upcoming season, so more of those sneaky shotguns are a possibility.
Season One wasn’t what Dallas wanted. They had ups and downs – mostly downs -, but that is in the past. Season Two of the Overwatch League is very nearly here, fans are eagerly waiting for the new and improved Dallas Fuel. Hopefully these plays will be more abundant, here’s to a strong Season Two!
