Contenders Teams Up with TaKeTV and Announce Talent Lineup

Contenders

The Path to Pro has announced its official partnership with TaKeTV for the upcoming Contenders season. TaKeTV is a German esports broadcasting agency; they are currently the sponsors for Angry Titans, one of the teams competing in Contenders trials. Both North American Contenders and European Contenders will stream from an official TaKeTV studio with an incredible cross-regional broadcast team.

This year, the 2020 European and North American talent team will consist of familiar faces in Evie “HamTornado” Feng, Harry “LEGDAY” Pollitt, and Jennifer “LemonKiwi” Pichette. Joining them will be Thomas “Tridd” Underwood and Christian “Heurix” Thomasser. Smash broadcaster Victoria “VikkiKitty” Perez is returning to the scene as well. Perhaps the most surprising news is that Chris “Boopasaurus” Lessard will not be joining the broadcast team this year. He explained his absence from the broadcast roster in a series of tweets, ultimately citing that he was not directly told that he would not be returning. However, despite this, he believes that Blizzard is making a more concentrated effort into the scene this year.

Along with announcing the talent for the 2020 season, the Path to Pro also listed the teams who qualified for both Contenders and Contenders trials through the seeding tournaments held earlier this year. Select matches will be streamed on the official Overwatch Contenders YouTube channel on Tuesdays. The full bracket can be found on the Contenders news post, but here is a breakdown of all the teams that will be competing this season.
