The first of the three new Chinese Overwatch League teams have been revealed. Swift and as quick as lightning, the Guangzhou Charge join the Overwatch pro scene ready to fight. The new squad will be sporting an elegant teal and deep blue for their season two debut in February, 2019.
Their video reveal featured highlights from presumably Guangzhou’s roster; however, all battleTags besides recently acquired flex Hong-joon “HOTBA” Choi had been censored or blurred to undoubtedly raise suspense for a larger roster reveal. HOTBA had been acquired from the Philadelphia Fusion through a trade of unknown parameters back in October. His flexible hero pool will make a wonderful foundation for the new organization to grow off of.

To many, Guangzhou may have seemed like a peculiar choice for a new franchise, as it may be a relatively unknown city to some in the western Overwatch community. The beautiful Chinese city was featured throughout the reveal, showing off much of the elegant cityscape, and beautiful greenery throughout the vast city.
