The London Spitfire have parted ways with support player Won-sik “Closer” Jung. Closer has joined the Dallas Fuel for the second season of the Overwatch League.
Closer, who has been playing with various members of the Spitfire going back to their days in APEX Season 4 with GC Busan, has been with the Spitfire since their start. He leaves for a reinvigorated Dallas team. The Dallas Fuel tweeted this tweet, hinting at their new signing earlier in the day, before confirming the signing in a separate tweet.
“It’s been fantastic working with Closer during this special year and his mentality and commitment are going to be valuable assets for Dallas. I know success will follow wherever he goes” remarked Jack Etienne, who owns the London Spitfire.
Susie Kim, General Manager for the Spitfire, said about Closer “Closer has been an incredible positive force for our team and I am sad to let him go, but at the same time, happy that he’ll be able to shine and continue building his career with Dallas! I know he’ll be a great addition to that team and we’re going to miss him a lot.”
Closer joins Jonathan “HarryHook” Tejedor Rua and Benjamin “uNKOE” Chevasson as the support players for Dallas. With Closer joining the team, the roster is up to eight players as of Oct. 15. The Dallas Fuel will look to come out strong for the second season of the Overwatch League, which is set to return in February of 2019.
