Axxiom not returning for this week’s matches, Boston Uprising confirms

Min-Seob “Axxiom” Park will not be returning to competitive play this weekend.

Axxiom, one of two main tanks for the Boston Uprising, was the apparent starting player for the 2020 Overwatch League season. He started in the first two matches, playing alongside both flex-tank player Walid “Mouffin” Bassal and main tank player Cameron “Fusions” Bosworth.

After week 2, however, Axxiom was benched in favor of a Fusions/Mouffin tank duo. He would miss out from competitive play for the next three matches.

The Boston Uprising then announced in a press release on March 9th that Axxiom would be taking a leave of absence from the active roster to attend to a medical procedure.

Since the press release, there had not been any new developments on Axxiom’s current health or roster status. TheGameHaus reached out to the Boston Uprising for comments regarding Axxiom’s condition, who responded on March 26th, 2020:

“As of right now, there are no significant updates regarding Axxiom’s return. With medical facilities dealing with the current global health crisis and caution concerning any travel for the time being, among other factors, it is unlikely Axxiom will immediately be able to take the steps necessary to play in any upcoming matches.”

Axxiom, who first joined the team in 2018, has never left the active roster until this year. With the Korean main tank player indefinitely out of the picture, the Boston Uprising will most likely continue to utilize the Fusions/Mouffin tank duo until further notice.

The Boston Uprising continue their season in the upcoming weekend, where they are set to play against the Toronto Defiant and the New York Excelsior on March 28th and 29th, respectively.
