The Boston Uprising wasted no time in changing their coaching staff for 2021. On Monday October 5, the Uprising announced the addition of Seung-Hyun “Lori” Kim as their new head coach. With this new signing, former head coach Vytis “Mineral” Laisaitis will move to a management position within in the team.

The young coach comes off an impressive season with the Korean Contenders team WGS Phoenix, placing third in 2020 Season 1. Lori formerly coached North American Contenders team Bermuda back in 2019, and coached briefly in EU Contenders with Eternal Academy alongside current Uprising Academy coach Julien “LeRenegat” Garcia.
Lori makes the fourth new head coach for the Uprising. According to Boston’s President of Gaming Chris “HuK” Loranger, Lori “turned down several other OWL offers to join the Uprising”. Fans of the Uprising will be excited to see a new acquisition at the coaching level after a tough 2-19 season. With a few more empty coaching positions on the Boston staff, expect more news to come this off-season.
