[3/19 Update: Echo’s Abilities Have Been Revealed and She is Now Live on PTR]

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan and popular streamer TimTheTatman will showcase Echo’s first gameplay on March 19 after announcing Hero 32 this morning. First announced on Twitter, the stream will start at 10am PT tomorrow on Tim’s Twitch channel ( This “first look” should feature Echo’s abilities, in-game look, and various other aspects of the hero as Kaplan and the streamer converse.

More recently known for his Fortnite gameplay, Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar has had a history with the franchise and was one of the games more well-known streamers during the game’s infancy. While the Twitch streamer has not played as much of the game as he once did, he has always expressed his love for Overwatch and frequently comes back when new content is added to the game.

As Betar is one of the most popular streamers on all the various platforms today, it makes a lot of sense why Blizzard would choose the streamer to showcase the communities first look at Echo. Boasting a 4.1 million following, thousands of people will be exposed to the stream inside and outside of the Overwatch realm.
