Overwatch is truly rehauling the entire game. No longer will heroes be defined by just one role. Instead, each of the three main roles will have subclasses. Here is a look at all of the New Hero Subroles in Overwatch 2026.

Below are all of the descriptions for all of the New Hero Subroles in Overwatch 2026. We have also added all of the known heroes for each of the Subroles.

Tank Subclasses

• Initiator
  • “Staying airborne lightly heals you.”
    • Airborne Time requirement: .8 seconds.
    • Total Healing Over Time: 50
    • Health Duration: 2 Seconds
  • Known Heroes
    • D.Va
• Stalwart
  • “Reduces knockbacks and slows received.”
    • +40% knockback and slow resistance.
  • Known Heroes
    • Domina
• Bruiser
  • “Reduces critical damage received. While at critical health, gain movement speed.”
    • Critical Damage Reduction: -25% critical damage taken.
    • Movement Speed Bonus: 20% move speed.
  • Known Heroes
    • Zarya

DPS Subclasses

• Specialist
  • “Eliminating an enemy briefly increases your reload speed.”
    • +50% reload Speed for 3 seconds.

  • “Health packs restore more health.”
    • +75 additional healing.

  • “Critical hits reduce your movement ability cooldowns.”
    • Cooldown Reduction: .75% of damage dealt.
