This week marks two important dates for the Overwatch League offseason. There will likely be many roster or free agent announcements between November 11 and November 15.
November 11
November 11 is the end date for all team agreements made for the 2019 season. This means that any player that has been listed as a ‘team option’ will either be resigned by the team or will become a free agent this day.
While some teams already have announced their rosters and made their signings and release announcements, several have a number of players still unconfirmed under the team option. The Atlanta Reign still have six members unconfirmed, the Florida Mayhem have five, and the Hangzhou Spark have four. Notable players still unconfirmed include Byung-sun “Fleta” Kim (although he’s rumored to go to Shanghai) and Jang-hyeon “TiZi” Hwang.
November 15
November 15 is an even more important date as it is the deadline for every team to have at least eight players signed. While many teams are above this limit, through new signings or players under contract, there are a handful that have not reached it yet.
Boston and New York have only signed seven players and London has merely five players currently under contract. Florida has two players under contract, but five more listed as ‘team option.’ This still leaves them with seven players if all options are picked up. Atlanta additionally only has two players under contract, but six players have a ‘team option’ that can be picked up, which would leave them with the necessary eight. Plus, sources have confirmed that they have signed Hugo “SharP” Sahlberg and Tae-hoon “Edison” Kim, which would put them at ten players.
These dates are crucial for the teams, and announcements of roster changes and signings are likely expected in this five-day window. As these come out, The Game Haus will keep providing updates and news.
