Scott “Custa” Kennedy is the recipient of the 2019 Dennis Hawelka Award. The League chose him for his overall positive impact on the Overwatch League community.
The award is presented to the player who is best at carrying on Dennis Hawelka’s legacy of positivity and encouragement.
So naturally, it went to Custa. A veteran of the Overwatch scene, Custa’s known for his charismatic leadership and strong shotcalling. His efforts all helped the struggling Los Angeles Valiant recover from their disastrous winless stage.

Custa also raised thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with a charity auction and his own charity streams.
When asked about Custa, Los Angeles Valiant flex support Young-seo “KariV” Park said that, “He motivates us to do better, even when we are doing well. If we didn’t have Custa, the Valiant would have a lot less smiles.”
The award commemorates the famously positive Dennis “INTERNETHULK” Hawelka. He was a central figure of the early competitive Overwatch community. Dennis unexpectedly passed away before the inaugural season of the Overwatch League.
