Paris Eternal: Stage 1 Week 1 Preview

Paris Eternal

In a new series, The Game Haus will be taking a look at each team’s weekly schedule. Here is how things are looking for the Paris Eternal as we get ready to kick off the second season of the Overwatch League!

Newcomers to the League, the Paris Eternal will be going up against the London Spitfire during their first and only match of the week. The London Spitfire are one of the most well-established teams in the League. They won the first ever stage of the Overwatch League and ended up being crowned the season’s champions last year. This will be a tough matchup for the Paris Eternal, who are trying to make a name for themselves.

The Eternal will be facing off against the London Spitfire on Ilios, King’s Row, Volskaya and Route 66. Since this will be the Paris Eternal’s debut match, there is no data to go off of how well the Eternal might do on certain maps.

Here’s what is known: the London Spitfire have one of the strongest rosters in the league. With Jun-ho “Fury” Kim and Jae-hui “Gesture” Hong on their side, the Spitfire’s tank line is looking ridiculously stacked. While Europe might be one of the best regions concerning GOATS, it does not seem likely that the Paris Eternal will be able to take on the Spitfire. While there are a lot of skilled players on the Eternal’s roster, the Eternal are going to need time to find their groove as a team. Things will look up for the Eternal down the line, but for right now things are looking quite grim.

PREDICTION: LONDON SPITFIRE WINS 4-0

PLAYER TO KEEP AN EYE ON:

NICOGDH

French player Nicolas “NiCOgdh” Moret will be making his Overwatch League debut this game. NiCOgdh is lucky in that both his fellow DPS players on the Eternal are Overwatch League veterans. They can help guide him as the season progresses and the Eternal find their footing. Standing alongside big names such as Georgii “ShaDowBurn” Gushcha and Terence “SoOn” Tarlier, there will be a lot of pressure to see how NiCOgdh compares to his teammates.

NiCOgdh is coming into the Overwatch League from EU Contenders. He was a member of Rogue in 2017 before moving on to Eagle Gaming in 2018, where they finished first against EU powerhouse Angry Titans. NiCOgdh was also a member of Team France during both the 2017 and 2018 World Cups. He has a lot of experience under his belt. That experience and his mechanical skills as a DPS player make him one of the many Eternal players to keep an eye on during the second season.

Be sure to tune in for the Paris Eternal’s first match against the London Spitfire at 3:00 PM EST on February 16!
