The Korean broadcast just announced the addition of Dongjun ‘Rascal’ Kim to the line-up for the Overwatch Contenders Summer Series. There has been an open spot on the broadcast with Changsik ‘Changshik’ Moon enlisting into the military earlier this month.
Changsik was also a player turned commentator for the broadcast; being able to give a unique perspective on the game. The Korean broadcast picking up Rascal means he will be able to fill that spot, allowing for the continuation of a player’s perspective to be heard. Another element that he brings to the table is the perspective of a coach. He was on the winning Dallas Fuel coaching staff, so that is another mindset that he can share with the community.
Rascal has a lot of experience to draw from. He was an APEX generation player, being mostly known for being the DPS for Kongdoo Panthera. He was then a part of many Overwatch League teams: The London Spitfire, the Dallas Fuel, the San Francisco Shock, and the Philadelphia Fusion. Not only has he been a part of an All-Korean roster, but also a mixed roster giving him a good insight into how different teams might be functioning. Not only that, but he had been in both the NA and APAC regions, so he can speak on the difference there.
Rascal has never been on an official broadcast as a commentator. But he has more than enough knowledge to fill the gap that Changshik has left. Fans are excited to see a fan-favorite player come back in a new capacity. Check on Rascal’s first broadcast later this week!
