The Hangzhou Spark have completed their roster and are looking to bring the heat to the rest of the APAC region. On Tuesday March 7, the Hangzhou Spark announced the signing of Xiang “Mmonk” Zhou and Jingyi “Lengsa” Chen as their newest support duo. Mmonk and Lengsa are the final pieces to the 2023 Hangzhou puzzle.
Mmonk joins the Hangzhou Spark after spending a season and a half with the Chengdu Hunters. Mmonk was called up from Chinese Contenders in 2021 where he split time with Cao “Farway1987” Jiale. For the 2022 season, Mmonk had a permanent role as a starter with Chengdu letting go of Farway1987 in the offseason. Despite his best efforts Chengdu failed to earn a spot in the Grand Finals bracket, just missing out by losing to the Hangzhou Spark in the Countdown Cup finals. Mmonk joins the very team that prevented him from reaching the playoffs.

Lengsa joins the Spark after a brutal season with the Los Angeles Valiant. Prior to the unfortunate run with the Valiant, Lengsa played with the Chengdu Hunters back in 2020. After a season on the main team, Lengsa found himself demoted to the Hunter’s affiliate team, Team Chaser. His performance there was solid enough to get another crack at the OWL, though playing for the Valiant may not have been the most optimal choice. Lengsa gets another shot at proving himself as he joins the Spark for the 2023 season.
