Aspire Dropped from Vancouver Titans, Suspended From Team USA Amidst Criminal Allegations

Publish Date: June 29, 2023

Recent news has shook the Overwatch League community as recent allegations against Luke “Aspire” Rolovic have surfaced this week. An anonymous Twitter account revealed screenshots of conversations with Aspire highlighting incriminating evidence against the OWL player. In these screenshots it appears as though Aspire was taking part in indecent activity with a minor. These conversations have allegedly gone on for some time.

Aspire was first suspended by the USA Overwatch World Cup team as the new first came to light. Unfortunately for the World Cup team, this news broke out just as they had moved two players to the reserve roster. Since the initial suspension, it is unclear if Aspire is removed completely from the team.

As the investigation continues the Vancouver Titans announced on Tuesday June 27 that Aspire would no longer be a part of the organization. It appears as though the Titans will not conduct an internal investigation, and are dropping the player outright. This announcement also comes after allegations that the team was aware of said activity. The Titans management noted in the team’s official Discord that they do not have any more comments at this time.

The Overwatch League has yet to respond to this recent news. The Vancouver Titans will now look to replace Aspire heading into the back half of the 2023 season. As a team that was hoping to make a push, they are now stuck in a difficult position to find a DPS player on short notice. The Titans resume OWL play on July 15.
