Overwatch League: Top 5 Plays of the Stage 2 Playoffs

top plays stage 2 playoffs

After the dramatic conclusion of the Stage 1 Playoffs, a rematch between the San Francisco Shock and the Vancouver Titans was nearly inevitable in Stage 2. Each made true on what fans had hoped for and in relatively quick fashion, to boot. This made for a final match, and its build up throughout the playoffs, that was packed full of exciting plays with more at stake than ever before. It’s safe to say that this week’s top five plays were, well, shocking.

5: Building a Graviton Surge Before You Can Say, “Building a Graviton Sur-“

Jay “sinatraa” Won has made a habit of building very quick Zarya ultimates, but none with quite as much on the line as this one. In a map to end the series, fighting for a point with few players left, sinatraa manages to use the deadly ultimate twice in one fight. That shouldn’t be possible.

4: Target Practice

Apparently, enough hours on Zenyatta can make for a pretty deadly flick on Widowmaker. Minki “Viol2t” Park adds insult to injury as the Shock take the first top plays of the playoffs.

3: Unstoppable Force vs Immovable Object aka Super vs Bumper

These two main tanks were at war the entire series. One ended up with his hands in his head and the other (according to Mica Burton) is heading to Hawaii. This play ought to indicate which is which.

2: Quite a Spark Indeed

Just like the Dragons took a map off of the Shock to ruin their golden stage and playoffs, the Spark play spoiler here to an otherwise full sweep of the top plays for the Shock. Well deserved, considering the boldness and execution this play takes from the Spark.

1: Shock the World and Slay the Titans

Down several ultimates, momentum shifting to Vancouver, and the Shock make this play to win it all. This one has a certain Kawhi Leonard game-winner vibe to it. No doubt, this takes the cake for the best play of the Stage 2 Playoffs.
