The Charge had their work cut out for them against the 2nd best team in the league. Starting on Gardens, things didn’t look good for the Charge as their GOATs didn’t get off a single ultimate rotation off before San Francisco rolled over them.  Eileen was on Zarya duty for most of the series and didn’t look as comfortable as he has on DPS heroes.

Things didn’t get better on University as the Charge had a very rough time dealing with the aggression and play coming from San Francisco. Something that haunted the Charge throughout this round was their ultimate economy. Rio and Shu had a few times where their ultimates didn’t find any value whatsoever and in a GOATs meta, ultimates are hyper important. The Charge would lose the map in swift fashion as they headed into their next map.

Against the Shock, the Charge were going to have a hard time, to begin with. San Francisco seemed to be on their A game coming out on Baptiste GOATs. It seemed that the Charge had a hard time dealing with the amount of healing Baptiste pumped out. The Charge struggled confirming any kills and was promptly rolled over by San Francisco into the second point capture.

On their offense, some of the coordination issues and ultimate economy issues still plagued the Charge. This left San Francisco open to make many more hero plays that seemed to bring them back from the brink. The Charge were able to finally capture the first and second points thanks to some good ultimate patience but unfortunately, it was in overtime meaning they would only get one chance to defend for a draw. With San Francisco having about 4 minutes available to them, they were easily able to take the one tick they needed to but the Charge down 0-2.

It was hard for the Charge to really get to the level that the Shock is at in the current moment. Whenever it seemed that the Charge had a ray of hope the Shock would end up taking it away. The Charge was able to hold at Point A for a couple of minutes but after the Shock were able to break the Charge’s hold on the first point it was smooth sailing for the Shock the rest of the way through. The coordination that the Charge had just wasn’t enough to deal with the coordination for the Shock. It seemed that the Shock were always two or three steps ahead of the Charge in the ultimate economy and ultimate usage. In the Charge’s attack they weren’t able to push any of their advantages and were promptly full held. The Charge would lose the series and have to play another map on Gibraltar.

GIBRALTAR: CHARGE 0-3 SHOCK

The last map for the Charge didn’t look any better than the previous map. San Francisco flexed their muscles all over the Charge on their attack run finishing the map with a two minute time bank. It seemed like there was nothing that the Charge could do to deal with the sheer talent and coordination coming from the San Francisco lineup. It got so bad on offense for the Charge that they were being full held at their spawn, something that is quite uncommon on this map. The Charge finally was beaten with a clean sweep by the Shock 4-0.
