Overwatch 2 Season 4 is coming soon and there have been a few things teased about the newest Overwatch Hero coming to the game. As a quick reminder, they are adding heroes every other season. Currently, the game is in Season 3 which added a new map but no hero. This next hero will be one of the first heroes that no leaks (at least yet) have spoiled. With that, here are the Top 5 Overwatch 2 Support Options for Season 4.

Before diving too deep, there were a few things that were revealed during a live stream with the Devs. Jared Nuess specifically teased what fans could expect. This was documented in a USA Today Article. Basically the next two heroes will be supports, “cute”, cute like people think Mercy is cute, a kid and they’ll have “mechanics that will be really interesting to watch unfold in high-level games”.
Keeping all that in mind, here are five potential options.
5: Emily
The definition of kid is being played a little loose with this first option. Emily is the girlfriend of Tracer who is seen in the comics in more detail. She live with Tracer in King’s Row and knows about Overwatch. Specifically about Tracer’s involvement with it again and with Winston. She is shown eating with Winston in his lab. That is all that is known but there could be a new cinematic that shows why she becomes a hero.
Maybe she already had abilities that Tracer didn’t know about or that the fans just haven’t seen. Or maybe she gains them through some other means now that Overwatch is coming back. Also, many fans would see her as “cute” in a Mercy way.
Regardless, she is an option albeit a lower possibility one.
4: Alejandra
Initially, Alejandra was shown in the Hero short which is about her money being stolen and then Soldier saving her. At the beginning, her relative discusses how she may not be a “kid” anymore but she isn’t an adult either. This still puts her in the kid category but no necessarily in the cure Mercy category unless they age her up a bit.
Regardless, she is the first of these options that has been potentially inspired by one of the older Overwatch heroes. This would be a great addition to the story of Overwatch 2. She sees what happened to Soldier and is still inspired by him and even says so as he walks away. Then she takes home his poster and tells her relative with Soldier watching over her.
She could be someone who has been working under Soldier and helps him to return to the fight as well. This would explain why she is still a kid but able to fight as she has been learning under Solider.
3: Brian
This is one from way back. But the developers did say that they were wanting to showoff and flesh out more characters already established with these new supports. Brian is from the original trailer for Overwatch. He and his brother are at the museum honoring Overwatch and their sacrifice to win the war against the Omnic threat. Here they watch as Tracer and Winston fight Reaper and Widowmaker over the Doomfist Gauntlet.
What makes Brian an option is that he, like Alejandra, are inspired by the heroes they watch. But, Brian picks up the glove and helps Tracer and Winston after telling his brother Timmy, who is already a spray in Overwatch, that most of these “heroes” were just mercenaries now. Instead, he ends up helping and is clearly convinced more about them. Who is to say that this doesn’t inspire him to find a way to join once he is a little older?
He fits the kid part but not really the Mercy “cute” definition. That being said the cute definition was not gendered and also adorable is a form of cute that Brian could be described as. He would be a great callback, even his brother Timmy would be a fun hero potentially but Brian feels more likely as he is a bit more at the age that could grow into a new Overwatch Hero.
2: Dae-hyun Park
There is little doubt that Dae-hyun Park will have some roll in Overwatch at some point. But could he be the Overwatch 2 Support for Season 4? Seen for the first time in the Shooting Stars short with D. Va, Dae-hyun is a great help to D. Va and clearly someone she is close to. He fits what the next support is described as too.
He fits the “cute” like Mercy, again taking out any gender aspect of it. Also he is still a kid just like D. Va is at 19. Lastly he has the ability to have “mechanics that will be really interesting to watch unfold in high-level games”. Could he be a scout of some type that helps from a distance? Maybe a combination of Ana and Brig?
No matter what he could become, it seems likely that he is one of the top options. He fits many of the descriptions and fans have actually seen him, unlike the other M.E.K.A pilots. Look for Dae-hyun to make his way to Overwatch 2 at some point but Season 4 could be his debut.
1: Iggy
The last and possibly the most likely option is the Omnic Iggy. She is one of the leaders of the underworld Ominics in England, specifically in King’s Row. She starts off as a scientist and is eventually recruited to join this underworld group before taking over. This seems like the perfect option to be added into the game.
While yes Ramattra is an Omnic, going with back-to-back Omnic’s wouldn’t be the worst idea. Having them really flesh out their side of the struggle seems like it will be very important to the story of Overwatch 2.
Then when looking at the descriptions, she is almost a perfect fit. She is “cute”, a kid (in most senses) and there is not doubt that they can do more with an Omnic in terms of abilities to fit new and interesting mechanics. Also, she is a character that was clearly important to a story in one of the comics, so much so that she got her own backstory.
Other Options?
There are certainly other options. There are characters that could come out of nowhere as maybe the developers meant that they wanted to flesh out more characters, after this one. But that feels unlikely. There are also older characters that could fit the support role and ones that maybe were missed. Overall this feels like most of the known characters it could be but if one should think of any others, please leave a comment below.
Thank you to TV Tropes for the database used to find some of these characters.
