When it comes to rivalries in hockey, one of the highlights is always the battle between Alberta teams the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.
Their success might well have diminished from their great run of Stanley Cups in the 1980’s but their rivalry certainly hasn’t, with more fuel added to the flames, pun intended, with a feud between Matthew Tkachuk vs. Zack Kassian.

And as Betway Insider states, with the shifted schedule for the 2020-21 campaign, which saw them face off 10 times within just four months, the hatred between the Flames and the Oilers remains intense.
Following the renaming to the Calgary Flames from the Atlanta Flames, the two franchises have met 253 times in the league with the Flames boasting the superior record with 126 wins to Edmonton’s 109 and 18 ties (before the NHL introduced the current overtime rules).
Away from home Calgary have 54 wins whilst Edmonton prevailed 45 times in Calgary. Not only that, the Flames have also scored more with 862 goals to 824 for Edmonton.

With the recent brawls between Tkachuk and Kassian and the 10 games in just four months, the rivalry is certainly alive and well.
All eyes on the 254th meeting to see who gains the local bragging rights.
