Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella made a surprise move by placing starting goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky as a healthy scratch. Tonight the Blue Jackets face a tough divisional matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jonas Korpisalo will start in net tonight with Keith Kinkaid backing up. The two teams are two points apart in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race. According to Tortorella, Bobrovsky was overworked and could use a much-needed break, not because of his bad history against the Penguins.
Bobrovsky is 0-2-3 with an .882 save percentage against the Penguins over the past two seasons. Last season he went 0-1-3 against the Penguins with a 3.82 GAA and .889 save percentage.
