Edmonton’s Mayor, Don Iveson, announced that the Rogers Place, home to the Edmonton Oilers, was flooded by a storm.
The flooded arena is horrible news for the NHL since Edmonton is one of two hub cities for the NHL return to play plan with the games being played in Rogers Place. Exhibition games will occur in Rogers Place next week along with the Qualifying Round games and Round Robin games for the Western Conference in less than two weeks.
Luckily, the flood won’t delay the start of the NHL return to play plan but it creates even more chaos in this already unique season.
