The only untouchables for the Calgary Flames are Matthew Tkachuk, Elias Lindholm, Jacob Markstrom, Chris Tanev, and Andrew Mangiapane. Everyone else is available. (Per Hailey Salvian)
The Flames have been rather disappointing this season, as they were expected to be a playoff team but now sit second-last in the North Division. The Flames recently hired Darryl Sittler as their new coach, and more changes could be coming to Calgary. A big change could come to their roster as they listed Matthew Tkachuk, Elias Lindholm, Jacob Markstrom, Chris Tanev, and Andrew Mangiapane as untouchables. Everyone else is available including some notable names such as Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, and Noah Hanifin. Many teams could be interested in these players if Calgary does decide to retool.
Kyle Palmieri and the Devils have not been close on contract talks. Leafs, Islanders, and Bruins could be interested. (Per Elliotte Freidman)
Kyle Palmieri is an eye-catching name on the trade block this year as he brings a scoring and defensive presence in his game. Palmieri has been a very consistent player throughout his career but is having a slightly down year this season. Palmieri and the Devils have been discussing contract extensions, but the two sides remain far apart from a deal. For the Devils team that is very young and is still rebuilding, they may see a 30-year-old Palmier as a guy they can move on from. One problem with dealing Palmieri is his M-NTC but teams such as the Leafs, Bruins, and Islanders still remain interested
The Islanders could be interested in Taylor Hall or Kyle Palmieri with Lee on LTIR. (Per Arthur Staple)
The Islanders have established themselves as one of the best teams in the league this season but, they face bad news as their captain and first-line winger Anders Lee is out for the rest of the year with an injury. The Islanders are looking to replace Lee and add for their playoff run by acquiring a top-line winger. The two most intriguing names for the Islanders include Taylor Hall and Kyle Palmieri who would fit the Islanders roster well. The Islanders would likely have to give up a first-round pick for one of these players.
Toronto Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas says that he’d be willing to move a top prospect before the deadline (David Pagnotta)
Just like the Islanders, the Maple Leafs are one of the best teams in the league this season and are poised on a big playoff run. However, the Leafs have had a huge problem making it past the first round of the playoffs. To ensure that doesn’t happen again this year, the Leafs need to load up at the trade deadline. Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas has made it clear that he wants to make a big move and wouldn’t mind giving up a top prospect for a star player. These prospects include Timothy Liljegren, Rodion Amirov, Rasmus Sandin, and Nick Robertson.
