The NHL playoffs are winding down, which means that some teams are looking forward to the offseason. Here are the NHL Trade and offseason rumors.
Trade talks are getting serious for Jack Eichel. Kings, Wild, Ducks, Jackets, Flyers, Rangers make sense – Pierre LeBrun
Jack Eichel is the biggest name on the trade market this offseason and there is some serious interest for him. Eichel has had an interesting start to his career in Buffalo, producing very effectively but the Sabres have been very disappointing. The disgruntled young star center is looking to move to another team to try to start winning. Within the next few weeks, we could see Jack Eichel on a new team. The teams listed above are the teams that have shown interest in Eichel as of late with the lead teams being the Ducks, Rangers, and Wild.
Unlikely Zach Hyman is back with the Leafs next season – Chris Johnston
Zach Hyman is one of the most interesting players in the league as he can do it all. Score, play defense, play physical, you name it. Hyman is a great piece on the Maple Leafs’ top line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, but rumors are that Hyman won’t stay in Toronto and will sign elsewhere. If that is the case, it would be a huge blow to the Leafs and could hurt the production of Matthews and Marner. The Leafs could look for Hyman’s replacement if he doesn’t resign.
Ducks could do something big this offseason – Elliotte Friedman
The Anaheim Ducks are in a big rebuild right now, but they could be looking to speed up the rebuild by making a big splash or they could do the complete opposite and look to move all of their veteran players. If the Ducks are looking to speed up their rebuild, their main target would be Sabres star forward Jack Eichel. If the Ducks are looking to trade all of their veteran players, Josh Manson, Rickard Rakell, and Adam Henrique would be on the move
Sabres preparing for the possibility they will have two picks in the top 10 – Lance Lysowski
With the recent trade rumors surrounding Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, the Sabres are expecting a big haul for both of those players including a package of prospects and picks to start their rebuild. Some of the teams that are interested in either Eichel or Reinhart have picks inside the top 10. And with GMs and scouts undervaluing the weak 2021 NHL Draft compared to other drafts, teams would be more willing to trade those picks.
Flyers and Kings are interested in Seth Jones – Elliotte Friedman
A few weeks ago, Seth Jones publicly said that he would not resign with the Columbus Blue Jackets once his contract expires after next year. Now the Blue Jackets are looking to shop Seth Jones and trade him before he walks to free agency. There are several teams that are interested in a top-pairing defenseman like Seth Jones with the Flyers and Kings being the teams that have expressed the most interest.
