This will be their second time selecting first in the last three years (2018) and fourth time selecting in the top three in the last eight years (2014, 2015, 2018). The newest NHL franchise, the Seattle Kraken, have the second overall pick in the upcoming NHL Draft. This will be their first ever selection in franchise history.
