On Saturday, August 15, Bruins starting goalie Tuukka Rask released a statement, announcing he is leaving the NHL Bubble in Toronto for family reasons.
Rask stated, “I want to be with my teammates competing, but at this moment there are things more important than hockey in my life, and that’s being with my family,” Rask said. “I want to thank the Bruins and my teammates for their support and wish them success.” This statement just came less than two hours before Game 3 between the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes.
Jaroslav Halak is expected to be the starting goalie for the Bruins for the rest of the playoffs.
