The New York Jets are starting Zach Wilson again in Week 15. Mike White was starting games while Wilson rode the bench due to below-average play, but due to White’s rib injury, Wilson is thrust back into the starting role above Joe Flacco.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Friday.
Wilson has played in seven games this season, and despite going 5-2 in those games was benched. He’s thrown for 1,279 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also rushed for almost 100 yards and an additional score.
In White’s three starts this year, he’s gone 1-2. He’s thrown for 952 yards and three touchdowns to just two picks. Head coach Robert Saleh thought White gave the Jets the best chance to win and get to the playoffs, while Wilson hopefully reset during a stint on the bench.
