Giants safety Xavier McKinney will miss a few weeks with a hand injury. McKinney himself reported that he suffered the injury during the Giants’ bye week while riding an ATV. It is unclear how many games McKinney will miss.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
McKinney was a College Football Playoff champion while in college at Alabama back in 2017. He made the First Team All-SEC back in 2019 and was named 2018 Orange Bowl MVP. The Giants chose him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
In 31 career NFL games (28 starts), McKinney has six interceptions, one touchdown, one sack and 156 total tackles. Five of those interceptions and the touchdown all came last season. In eight games this year, he has 38 tackles.
