The Washington Redskins signed former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman Monday afternoon.
The Redskins were rumored to be in the running for Josh Gordon who was traded to the New England Patriots early today.
Perriman will add depth to the Redskins receiving core who recently lost Trey Quinn and Cam Sims to injuries. Washington’s receivers struggled yesterday against the Colts and Perriman will bring speed to the outside.
Over three season with the Ravens, Perriman caught 43 passes for 576 yards. Perriman’s career was derailed due to injuries and his struggles on the field.
Perriman’s skill set will be utilized by starting quarterback Alex Smith. Smith is used to having a fast threat since his time with the Chiefs and it will be interesting to see if the two can build a connection.
