The Washington Commanders have a new offensive lineman. They have reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with offensive guard Trai Turner. His new deal is worth $3 million.
Washington Commanders beat reporter J.P. Finlay reported the news via Twitter on Monday morning.
Turner was drafted in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, who were coached by Washington’s Ron Rivera, which makes this signing a reunion for the two parties. He played there for six seasons before playing for the Chargers in 2020 and the Steelers in 2021. This will be his third consecutive one-year contract.
Turner was a Pro Bowl selection in five consecutive years, from 2015-2019. He started just 20 games in college at Louisiana State, but has become a reliable NFL offensive lineman, regardless.
