Oakland Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict will be suspended for the rest of the season for a helmet to helmet hit on Sunday according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
Burfict is getting a season-long suspension because of his past incidents. The NFL is doing something they haven’t done before, which is suspend a player for this long for on-field infractions.
The suspension stems from a hit Burfict had on Jack Doyle in the Raiders game against the Colts on Sunday.
Burfict is reportedly appealing the suspension.
