The Chargers have already found their replacement for top-10 tight end Hunter Henry. In his place, Los Angeles has signed veteran Jared Cook. The deal is worth $6 million for just one year and $4.5 million of it is guaranteed to Cook.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
The 34-year-old Cook was drafted by the Titans in 2009. After spending four years there, he bounced around to four other teams. The Chargers will be the sixth team he has played for in his 13th season in the NFL.
Henry was lost in free agency to the New England Patriots, who have been on a spending spree in free agency. The Chargers have also picked up some key lineman, including PFF’s highest graded center, Corey Linsley.
