Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor has been ruled out for Week 3. Taylor suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 during the Texans’ matchup with the Cleveland Brows. He will now be out for at least one game, but a multiple week absence is likely.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Tyrod Taylor joined the Texans after a horribly unlucky 2020 season. He was slated to be the Chargers’ starting quarterback, but a mistake by the medical team made him miss multiple weeks. During his absence, the job was given to (then) rookie Justin Herbert, who never relinquished the position. This is years after Taylor also lost a starting job in Cleveland to a rookie named Baker Mayfield
Taylor joined the Houston Texans and was again slated to be the starter, after Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson demanded a trade and landed in legal trouble. Now, he suffered another injury that will yet again allow a rookie to take over. There is no solid timetable for his return.
